Pages

I am ripping pages from my precious notebook
The blank lines need freedom from me
My controlling is overruled by passion
Those pages need to flow in the wind

My ongoings shock unprepared people
Raw emotions after their long days
I cannot even excuse myself for it
For breaking the mold of expectation

My pages need to flow in the wind
I hope they get carried and spread
A cold rain of letters and words on cheeks
Hitting the specific person when they need it

I can’t say I am fine, but I see why I will
I will be functioning within those lines
Not theirs, but the ones you put for me
You outlined your wishes and love in us to me

So I gladly sadly fill the ripped blank pages
With words I should have said, will say, will not hold back
From now on, in your honor, I’ll go back to those pages
With you whispering; “Honey, just do it.”
