Honey

Your eyes promise possibilities when you glance at me.
Unnoticed amidst the fuss of dancing and laughing.
My awareness locked to the sweetness of your sly smile
Mind and body are buzzing with anticipation.

That little sparkle in your eyes tells me you need satisfaction.
The communal hunger for anyone to echo you and yours.
Only fulfilled when you feel a person through his right words.
Souls blooming in half shade and neon lights as you lean in.

Soft charms spoken over loud bass lines dripping in like honey.
Yours turn my legs royally to jelly as I move to impress.
Left to right and ever so carefully forwards with you.
Backwards and again and again, flying on the beat.

I imagine us together, your eyes in the sunlight.
Grass tickling our bare feet as we devour presence.
Not a single soul can penetrate our little universe.
Droplets of sun and heated rain try to distract our focus.

You order us another ambrosia, drinking for immortality.
Who are we, other than gods, in our private space.
Drinks sticking to our lips, golden dreams reality.
I taste yours as you taste me.
