Spot

There’s something in the way that she says “He”
With her arms crossed and her shoulders there.
“I am experiencing stress” he explains coldly.
And she worries how to make it through the night.

Behind closed doors and curtains, the play is over.
Performances are left, and he wants to be left alone.
And he needs food, a silent “I provide, don’t I?”
As she slaves in the kitchen, to time the food right

“You missed a spot.” He points to the window.
“But I did it as you said.” she whimpers.
“Do you think I’m blind.” He bellows from the couch.
As she rushes to the cupboard to grab the cloths.

There’s something about the knife in the kitchen.
With her fist around it, hidden under the cloth.
“I am experiencing stress” She explains softly.
As she finds the perfect spot to plunge it in.
